Thanksgiving Bash 2008

We thought we were going to end up being all alone this Thanksgiving. We have no family close by, and most of our friends either had family in town or they were out of town. But then, a few plans changed, and the Roses and the Dowdys were suddenly free. Yay for us! Sara's sister and brother in law were in town, and they joined the party as well (such good sports). We had such a fun day with these three other families. We moved the furniture out of our living room, and set up a giant table (putting 4 utility tables together). We had the best food, the best company, and such a fun day. John and I truly felt thankful for so many things this year. Friends and family are right at the top of our list.
Luke and Carver playing some games and excited to spend the holiday together.

The turkey is finished and John is ready to carve it.
All of us ready to sit down to our feast
Kennedy was so cute with these sweet little girls. She played with them and read them stories all day.

Me and John
The annual Lopez whip cream eating contest. We started this tradition about 8 years ago...and whoever happens to be with us on Thanksgiving, is kind of forced into participating. But I think everyone enjoyed it.
Good going "Dads", though I think we made some of them sick.
Cooper and Gavin sharing the computer
The Dowdy family performing their talent. Their own version of Rudolf. We also had some jokes, some piano pieces, some acrobatics, and a few funny faces. Very entertaining.
At the end of the night, after everyone had gone home and we had cleaned up, we curled up with our own family and watched a movie. How thankful I am for this family of mine. We are so blessed.
