Carver's run

Recently Carver's school did a fund raiser/ leadership building event.  The kids learned all about leadership, Character building, etc.  They also raised pledges for this run that they did.  It was a huge event and the company who runs it (Boosterthon), really knows how to get these kids excited. I swear, during these two weeks, Carver was more concerned about this Boosterthon stuff than his homework. But the end result was really cool.  These 3rd graders ran laps to earn money for Haiti and for their school.  They had music blasting and each few laps the kids were encouraged with a different song or something. They even got to stop and do the cupid shuffle at one point, or they would pull kids up onto a stage to sing along with the songs.  It cracked me up.  Anyway, I was so proud of Carver. He ran more than the maximum amount of laps, when many students had to stop early.  It was a hot day, and he was a trooper.  So all together, he ran two and a half miles that day.  Pretty good for a 3rd grader.  Plus they earned 20 thousand dollars for their school and a bunch of money to help families in Haiti. Way to go Carver.

I had to get pictures of Carver with these girls.  Apparently he is quite the ladies man and comes home from school with love notes all the time.  He is the nicest boy, and i think that is why all the girls like him.  But if you ask Carver he will say they like him because of his hair...and because he is funny.  Hmm.  Could be :)
